Pulsar, good performer

I have a pulsar 150 CC and it is just doing good after two yrs. I like the engine response even after 20000 kms. Initally when new the I felt the engine was too good and the power awesome. I thought that the after a few yrs things will go down. But to my suprise its still like new. I like the engine response when you lower your gears to 2 or 3. You can take the bike to an awesome 65 on 3rd gear and then run it to 95 on 4’th and then burn the road at 100 on the 5’th. The bike does not cross the 100 mark but at the same time it does not cry at 100 kmph. It takes the road likes its brother and does not complain. I have taken the bike on the trip to Chennai. Its a five 5 day tip of burning 1500kms. It was really awesome. The pulsar gave a very very comfortable ride. It did not make you feel tired as the engine was responding good. Small cars like the maruti 800 and the Tata Indica cannot shoo you away from the road. The pulsar does give them a chase and I am proud of it. Here are some of the Pros and Cons of the ride and the pulsar.

Pros:

1) Good Engine Reponse

2) very good design and looks good

3) The shocks are more comfortable than the Yams or the older bajaj bikes

4) Good combination of wet weather and dirt track tyres.

5) The disc brakes are very effective and it does not throw u away as it gets its balance from the weight of the bike

6) Consistent mileage. Even after two yrs under normal condition it give anywhere between 50 and 55 kmpl. Under high speed rididng it gives between 45 and 50 kmpl.

7) Powerfull 12 V battery

8) Bright Head lights

9) Nice fuel tank to go long rides.

Cons

1) The seating for the Pillion is very narrow and small. They don’t find it comfortable

2) The rear shocks is a little tough.

3) The gear box is a little hard ( older pulsar not DTSI). The gear some times get stuck bettwen 1 and 2

4) The rear wheels is a little narrow comparing the size of the bike.

Some tips to take of the pulsar to the best.

1) Never forget to change the oil every 3000 Kms. I change it very 2000KMS.

2) Service the bike reguarly with a trusted mechanic. Never ignore the service cus then you will find oil leak, bad sound and drop in mileage and power

3) Do not use hi octane fuel. The engine is not designed to handle excess heat and power......due to which you will see that the pistion is worn out much quicker.

4) Always make sure you do not apply disc brakes on sand or wet muddy roads for your own safety
