REVIEW ON P150
(and the story of an auto enthusiast …)
Hi guyz. Bought my black Pulsar 150 on 2002 26th July, Friday. Exciting ...some times annoying ...enticing. This is what I found after driving my Pulsar for 5600 kms (apr 24). Let me eloborate…
A NEW DAWN
I was a medicore 11th standard boy with little passion for bikes until that day came. It was Sept 2001, I was at the railway station, Coimbatore to send of my mom on her trip. I don’t know what set my eyes on a small bookstall on the platform. Having more interest on Computers than bikes at that time, I was gazing over a copy of CHIP magazine. It was at that time this thing happened ... my vision fell on the picture of a OVERDRIVE magazine ... It was the time when Energy and Adreno Fx were reveiwed ... I managed to snatch that copy for 40 bucks. I couldnt help being without reading while returning to my home from the station. From then I started seeing bikes more than gals, thus started my dawn for motorcycling passion...
THE EARLY DAYS
I always loved bikes , but I never knew about mileage, bhp or torque and never thought that these factors differ for every vehicle! I used to drive a Scooty and then Kinetic Marvel along with car but I was never interested in the mechanics. I was to buy my bike only after +2 exams. I thought that scooty was very fast as a initial motorist untill I raced with my friends Kinetic Honda, actually I thought that I may win but the KiHo just ran away from me much to my disgust. This led to me the thought that every two wheeler differs ... I asked my friend what was the kinetics power and he replied it was 250 cc !!! and I beleived !!!
UNGEARED DRIVING
Then our scooty got old and I was interested only in Kinetic for I thought that it was the fastest. We visited the Kinetic showroom where I got some exposure to terms like bhp , cc etc. When I came to know that Marvel was 110 cc and Kinetic was 100 cc, I decided to buy the Marvel for I loved speed (60 kmph !!!) and also my sister liked to drive it so she finally bought it. I could immediately feel the difference in the handling and power traits of the scooter. (Actually I thought that it was a scooterette untill the DAWN came)
INTO GEARED
My driving experience with gears started from cars. When we brought our car, I never knew its cc even ! But anyhow our M 800 was bought. My Pa dosent drive so me and my sister were only to drive and I started realising the pleasure in driving slowly. It was the time when I completed my 10th standard.
MOTORCYCLING PASSION
I was very much interested in reading Auto magazines from Sept. 2001 I slowly learnt the terms relating to bike with the help of these magazines and a hundreds questions to the bike guru. @ cybersteering.com.I started feeling the difference in torque, power, rpm, build quality(reliability), ride quality and throttle response, even now these factors are my main concern in a machine. Whenever I browsed the net I looked for info on bikes and thus my quest for knowledge on two wheelers started which slowly transfered into cars also. I started driving my friends motorcycles to get a feel of them...
AVID DRIVER:
Soon I started falling in love with vehicles, raced with friends did some thrilling and nail biting off road city driving, leaning and skits and this continues … I keep trying new styles everyday and cant resist watching again and again bike and car stunts in English movies, for example watched MI:2 about 10-12 times … My top speed is 100 + in car with friends at bye pass road Coimbatore early morning 7 am before being forced to slow down by a stupid old woman crossing the road.
