Im Navin. I just bought a Pulsar three months ago but Ive done only 850 kms. The main reason why I bought this vehicle was that it struck a perfect balance between mileage, pick up, maintainance etc.
Pros:
1.Amazing pickup-for a 150cc, its good!
2.Good chassis setup. Will take all kinds of abuse and will never fail to surprise you.
3.Fuel Efficiency is o.k, will return about 50-60 in city conditions.
4.Good suspension setup, will soak-up any kind of terrain.
5.Very low maintainance cost. Thats cos its by Hamara Bajaj!!!
Cons:
1.Handlebar is slightly wide, may have difficulty at slow speeds initially.
2.Watch the tank! Might hit your private parts when you do a sudden brake! so please be careful about the seating position, sit in such a way that you dont strain your testicles. No kidding!
3.Please! Please go slow during the first 500kms!!! Go only at 50kmph. Because the engine beat will become upset and will sound lousy!!! My friend had that problem, now his bike sounds as though bangles are dangling inside the silencer!
4.You might or might not like the gearbox initially, but will get used to it as days go by
But before you buy, I suggest you buy the Pulsar 150DTS-i. The old model pulsar is still available for lesser price, but the DTS-i is much more advanced than the old model. The engine is very efficient, therefore higher mileage and higher power. The headlamp looks good, I think, but some ppl say that it looks ugly.
The gearbox has been altered and it is very sexy now!!!! Its like running a knife on semi-melted butter, simply superb!!!!
Last but not the least, wait for one year after you buy till your warranty gets over and then change the rear tyre to a wider size like that of the Pulsar 180.
Old Pulsar or new pulsar, either ways, you cant go wrong
