Reliable and safe bike

My first review here..

I bought a Pulsar 150 dtsi in May 2004 in bangalore. I used it for 6 months and had to move out of India in November 2004. . I was worried that the bike might have problems if left unused. But when I visited home in Feb 2005, I first looked at the beauty(the transport people had caused a lot of dent still she looked gorgeous)..and I asked my dad for the keys; turned the fuel on and pressed a button(the auto start button)... the sound...irrchh...zurrrmmmm.... thats it... within a second.. she was in the mood..I was surprised..this bike hadn’t been used for 3 months and starts in one press of a button!

Later in the day I took her out to drive to my home town...and she was just like I had last rode it in bangalore. I never had any problem with her during my 10 day stay at home. So I will recommend it to anybody who wants a reliable bike.

Second feature is Safety ...

When in bangalore, a car hit my bike from the right side..I was driving slow at that time, around 40kmph..I lost the balance and fell on the same side as the car.. and the bike skid...I skid with the bike on the road... I escaped with bruises on my hand, palm and knees...but no fractures.. thinking later, about the accident, I realised that my lower body was safe below the bike due to the handle design( a 2’’ extra metal at the end of the handle bar).

When the bike falls on right side, there is a gap between the bike and the floor created by the handle and the silencer resting on the ground....this provides room for the leg...so I thank bajaj for coming up with this good design.. for the left side the saari guard does the trick with the handle. Its a safe bike.. But a bike has no safety for the head..I was wearing a helmet and my head had hit the car body but the helmet kept me alive...so friends..never, ever ride a bike without a helmet.. I hope these 2 incidents help you understand 2 points about the bike.. its reliable and relatively safe...
