I had a long time .. dream buying a bike on my own ....
I didnt wanted to waste my hard earned money on buying something thats not worth it .....
So I made up my mind to go for a bike with the below ... conditions
150 CC Engine ( not the same 100 cc bike .. yak .. )
4 stroke ( ofcourse )
decent fuel efficiency
style .... ( thats why I wanted to purchase a bike not a scooter .... )
power
last but not the least ... budget constraints .. .no more than 60K I thought
after a quick survey I short listed a few options :
Hero Honda CBZ
Honda Unicorn
3.Bajaj Pulsar
The other bikes from TVS, Kinetic and LML didnt appealed me much .. so i dropped them there itself .
CBZ appeared a gud option technically ... but after getting some reviews abt its lower mileage ... that idea faded .... also the graphics appeared a bit loud to me... .. I mean graphics must b there but it appeared that the designer was given a last chance to design the graphics so he did all the things he wanted to do .. thats overdone ... so CBZ was out of list
Honda Unicorn . too was a gr8 option to go for ... but it lacked the style appeal ... although in terms of technical specs its a decent choice but .. the rear of Unicorn appears a bit bulky .. like fat ass ... the bike is definitely gud if someone is not looking for a sporty look , ..
Then at last I reviewed Bajaj Pulsar and various options available with it .. like no self start, spoked wheels and options like Alloy wheels and self start ..
although the option of ES (Electric start ) with alloy wheels was a bit costly affair but I went for that
coz man , .. this bike appealed me a lot .. it has a very gud design ... I dont think there is ne better bike in 150 CC domain ... I took a test ride .. and felt the power of the bike ... Bajaj has tremendously improved there engine design ... . The weight distribution of bike is well done .. ie it doesnt wave at higher speeds say 90-100 ... thts really gud ... there are not much graphics done .. but the single color suits the style of the bike ..
It has a broader rear tyre which helps in taking sharp turns at times ...
Pick Up is really great ...
so far the bike is giving me a decent fuel efficiency ... 45-50 kmpl
I am also satisfied with the customer service .. offered by Bajaj Auto Ltd.
Yaa there are some negatives in this as well .. first ... the gear transmission is not smooth at times .. I mean sometimes the gear gets stuck ...
the accessories provided are costly ..
Finally I would say .. I have been driving Pulsar for the last 10 months and I m really satisfied with the investment I made .. .
