Picture this... Youre living in a congested city(ofcourse, all the cities are congested!) and you need to travel around 10 kms to reach your office. Public transport is, as usual, never in time and never reliable. Youre not wealthy enough to own even an M800. Youre looking for an execommuter.
Youre a college freak who wants to show off in front of the cute girls and become an hero thus. You want real macho machine. Cars are ruled out because when girls see cars they only admire the car and not whos driving it. But, to get an admirable car youll be shelling out in excess of 12 lakhs to snatch those D-segment behemoths.
So, youre on the lookout for a mobike with decent looks in the 1st case and killer looks in the 2nd case above. You need to accelerate freely between signals which are present one for every 100 yards. You have a choice of either a 100cc economiser or a 150cc or above performer. Wouldnt you be please if you have a 150cc econo-performer? Heres where Bajaj Pulsar 150 exactly fits in.
Help->About Pulsar...
Id rate Pulsar as the best-looking bike ofcourse after the CBZ. The huge sculpted tank does makes a statement. The couch beneath the tank has been thoughtfully designed that I found it really comfortable to rest my thighs on.
Bajaj has played the game very well. Whenever you want to talk about the performance, you compare Pulsar 180 with others and when youre talking about fuel efficiency, you compare Pulsar 150 with others. So, now we get an illusion of same bike having dual features. But, you must also note that Pulsar 150 did not disappoint me in performance. 0-60 comes up in less than 6 seconds and it gives a consistent 50kmpl mileage.
Attention to detail is what makes me wonder about this bike. The Clutch, the footrest, shocks, tyres, headlights, instrument-console and infact everything is of high-quality. Theres hardly any piece on this bike that is defective. I wonder how the fellows at Bajaj could make this machine at a street price that is less than HH Ambition.

Handling
Everyone gets a 4 star here. I did not get to ride a Fiero F2 yet. Initial reviews from Overdrive promise very good handling on this bike. Read May Overdrive for more details.
Brakkkkingggg
What are you talking about? Everybody has a disc to retard them safely. This is no more a judgement parameter.
So... arent there any negative things about this Pulsar? Yes there are. For example, just taking out the toolkit and keeping it back in its place would consume 15 minutes of your time. Few more small glitches but they dont worry you much.
Verdict
Shall I buy this machine? Dont you hear a deafening YES from all the quarters? Close your eyes and get one soon. But, Id personally suggest you go for a P180. After all you wanted performance with killer looks and P180 delivers it in abundance. P150, though a bit fuel-efficient, is not my choice. Hey, if you want fuel-efficiency settle down with a 100-odd cc economisers - Victor GL, Caliber 115 or a Freedom and dont enter the 150cc+ zone.
