Bajaj Pulsar After 70000kms

It took me 6 long years to reach 70K mark. This is the first model NON dtsi with round silencer !!! There are few things that I dislike about it and what I did to solve it-

1)bike skids side ways on hard braking, yes its common with all bikes but I upgraded the rear tyre to 120mm from TVS. This helped a lot, bike skids on harder braking than before and the bonus was it skids in straight; not sideways.

I later upgraded to 130mm MRF zapper Q (note- zapper Y of same dimension wont fit ).The 1800 bucks wheel fits almost exact without leaving any room and I found it worth while taking corners at 90 without worrying about rear wheel.I am not concerned about the mileage but with broader wheel the top speed reduced to 100kmph only !

2) Head lamps- I always wanted to have more powerful head lamps, I tried black head bulb but not much significant change.Later I upgrade the head lamp unit to pulsar 200’s. It fit after little hammering the clamps. I did not regret it only because it gave my bike the new looks.

3) Performance has dropped considerably and vibrations are more now; Mechanic’s from Bikezone blamed Engine Mounting kit for it( its a set of 7 rubber washers that hold engine to bike’s frame; rubber to reduce vibrations.) It has been 10K kms/~1year and I am not able to find this kit with any Dealer. I have written a few mails to bajaj but no response.

5) Mileage - 35 with really really rash driving 50 with economical driving.

5) Parts- one pointer for old pulsar owners, mechanics often confuse weak engine of old pulsar with exhausted clutch plate. So, dont replace the clutch plate until gears start slipping.
