I bought my Pulsar 150cc Dtsi... 4 months back..the one with alloy wheels and those nitrox suspension systems..i had two options: Pulsar or Unicorn.. I went for Pulsar for the sole reason of its looks.. it looks compact.. and has a combination of machoism and cuteness..
Now the reactions after using it for 4 months..
Positive points:
Lives up to its expections on the power and pickup front...you are, for sure, the winner in the signal race..
A mileage of 53-55 km/lr.. which is great..considering the way u rip through..
Handling the bike is comfortable... iam not all that well built and had doubts regarding this aspect..but you can glide through the densest of the traffic with ease.
Negative points:
The major disappointment is the gear shifting..which is very patchy... shifting is not very smooth..and slips occasionally.. I have heard this comment from atleast 3 of my friends..
The accessories are not of great quality.. the lock.. side stand indicator and other gadgets do have some nagging problems....
What keeps me happy: Power and the looks. which outweigh the negative points.
My verdict:
Depends on your priorities.. if you want looks and good pickup .. go for this machine.. though beauty is in the eye of the beholder.. but if you want a trouble free, fill it and forget it machine..you have to think twice before buying this machine. I think you shud give weightages to your priorities and prepare a score sheet..the one with maximum score...should be your choice... take 1 for positive points and -1 for negative points..multiply them with your weightages and arrive at the score..
thats a mathematical and objective way of selecting a bike..but I prefer going by the feel of it.. u like a machine when u look at it...buy it..
