Feel the Pulze of DTSi

Hi Folks....

I used to ride my friends 150 CC Pulsar (KS Older Variant). I had the test ride of Pulsar DTSi & I bought it. Pulsar is good for people who want to take adventures on the road. The older variant gives 12 BHP @ 8500 rpm. It also gives a beautiful mileage for its class. Of course if u are planning to buy a pulsar, you’ll probably have CBZ, Fiero F2 AND Karizma in your mind. While CBZ and Karizma fall in the mileage, Pulsar and Fiero promise u a good figure. Comparing Fiero and Pulsar, TVS has to improve the external styling. Pulsar is an art... The overall quality of Fiero is slightly better than that of Pulsar. It has one cog extra in the Sprocket. But, F2 supports only 4 speeds. It is smoother than Pulsar. After the launch of DTSi both stand on the same line. I will say the DTSi is better.

Whatz special about Pulsar DTSi. DTSi stands for Digital Twin Spark Ignition. The spark plugs are mounted diametrically opposite to each other over the cylinder head. This successfully shortens the distance to be traveled by the two individually flame fronts (Simultaneous ignition). This enhance the efficiency of the engine. This can be attributed due to the complete combustion of the charge. The vehicle already meets the EPA 2005 norms and is expected to meet the 2010 norms. Some people feel that the bajaj vehicles do not have proper resale value. Only those which meet the EPA norms will have good resale value. Think...

The shape of the Silencer has been slightly modified. This actually makes it better. The front headlight bears a neat trendy fairing. It has the best headlight among the prevalent models in the market. It is like a snout facing downwards. Though needed for its class... the snout projects too much. The wheel base has been increased by 5.5 mm. This improves the stability of the vehicle. Much has been done to the gear box. The problems in the previous variant has been eliminated.

The 150 cc engine created a lot of back pressure making it difficult to kick start. DTSi comes with an electric starter. The quality of the switch gear is too good. The swing arm at the rear is a box section. This has better mechanical properties than the pipe section. For the same reason it is been used in Fiero F2.

The power has been improved by 1 bhp from the previous model at the same rpm. The 144 cc engine produces 13 bhp @ 8500 rpm. There is no torque peaks... It has been uniformly distributed. This makes u easily use the full capability of the engine. U are the king on the road. The power/weight ratio is higher than Karizma!!!

The shock absorbers have been improved over the previous. But, still I’ll say it is not remarkable for a city ride.

All these thing were done on this dream machine without sacrificing the mileage. It makes an average off 55 km/ litre and a maximum of 69 km/ litre.

Value for money........
