The pulsar name has been a game changer for Bajaj. It has grown to be one of the most loved bikes by us indians. The new offering by Bajaj, the RS 200, RS standing for Race Sport. This is a completely different bike, unlike any other we have seen from Bajaj. The huge fairing, busy lines, attractive cuts and crevices make it a very alluring package and is sure to catch many admiring looks by the crowd. The projecter headlights give it a bumblebee like look especially in yellow colour which is very attractive. This is undoubtely the best looking pulsar, in fact the best looking bike presented by Bajaj.
So that was for the looks, but what performance?
Well the good news for all those racing enthusiasts out there is that this is the fastest pulsar yet according to Bajaj! And that is perfectly true.
The bike is made for speed junkies. Swing a leg over it and you feel the commited stance, the rear set footpegs and slightly downward handlebars offer you a superior riding position which will help you slice through corners like hot knife on butter.
It produces 24.16 bhp and 18.6 Nm of torque which is plenty for overtaking and city riding and enough to cruise comfortably on highways and touch top speeds up to 140kmph.
The ride and handling is superb the bike maintains it grip and gives you a surge of power the moment you twist the throttle. The braking power is adequate with ample bite and I love that fact that Bajaj have offered a variant with ABS. Now I cant stress the importance of ABS, especially for Indian road conditions. ABS is a must have.
The overall build quality is good but as it has always been the case with bajaj, the plastic always starts rattling after some time and especially with a fairing this large you can expect a fair bit of rattling noise but I am nitpicking here.
All in all the RS 200 is a complete package, complete value for money and Bajaj have hit the bulls eye.
