Bajaj V15, the bike made using INS Vikrant’s metal, entered the list of 10 best-selling motorcycles in April 2016. Launched on March 2016, the deliveries for the bike began towards the end of March. Selling a total of 24, 057 units in April 2016, the Bajaj V15 ranked number 10 on the list.


Thanks to such a great response for Bajaj V15, new Avenger range, Pulsar range and the entry-level CT100, the company managed to close the month with an impressive year-on-year growth of 24.84 per cent. The company sold a total of 2, 00, 43 units in April 2016 as against 1, 60, 554 units sold in the same month previous year. With this the company retains its number 3 position in the Indian two-wheeler market. Hero MotoCorp and Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India continue to enjoy the first two positions.


To further consolidate its position in the 150cc segment, the company aims to sell more units of the V15 in coming month. And to be able to do that, the company will increase its production to 1, 000 units per day.


Launched at Rs 62, 000 ( ex-showroom, Delhi) , the Bajaj V15 aims to attract buyers who want a premium executive bike at an affordable price. The V15 costs Rs 63, 682, Rs 62, 820 and Rs 65, 498 in Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata respectively.


The Bajaj V15 drives its power from a 149.5cc, single-cylinder, DTS-i engine that is mated to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. This engine churns out 12bhp at 7500rpm and 13Nm at 5500rpm.
