Its been also 7-8 years Im writing a review, I felt this needs to be posted.
I have Honda Dio all these years and now changing to a gear vehicle.
Why I choose this bike, I like Simple technology.
My requirements:
I needed a instrument console that analog and prefer that way(No headache for battery or something goes damage or water . etc. etc) . A tire which is bigger on roads that can take a bump. Looks are mainly based on individual choice. Most of them call their bike as Baby, so I need a Masculine looking Male bike. A decent mileage of 45kms should be fine that beats my old dio should be good enough. No disk breaks as it optional. This is were my thought looked at BajajV15.
I was able to save money of these years and thought about buying in 1 shot.
When I purchased this bike. Onroad price in Bangalore/Bengaluru: 75235/-
Honda Dio cost during 2005 was around 43000/- onroad. Yes, Inflatation, economical figure and cost of living matters.
Based on 200 Kms review
Fuel Consumption: 43 kms/l
Comfort: I found, its comfortable
Reliablity: It lacks in terms of engine, Its my belief
Handling and Control: Its Good, I liked it.
Looks: Its upto you. Its for Men
Pros & Cons:
Pro:
The Sound
Good Headlight( Most of them dont like its shape, I see this as Monkey shaped with seriousness its face)
Comfortable Seat. 2 people can sit with no pain
Tyre is Big enough to take Bengaluru Bumpy rides.
Quick start
All gears UP( 5 gears)
Cons:
The Clutch is not comfortable as shifting from 1-2 goes to 3 and from 3 to 4 goes to 5( It jumps at times).
The engine stopped all of a sudden at 20 kms/hr speed, This happened once and it was a shocker for me.
After using 176 kms, near engine oil cover and engine shows leakage of petrol and oil( May be this will be cleared after 1st service.
Fuel indicator is not an indicator that indicates accurate fuel.( Lets say I pour 4 lts of petrol, it shows full, while riding it shows 60% and then later on it shows full. This needs to be fixed as multiple buyers are facing this problem.
Never used a disk break in my life, but sure does a same work as drum break for me .
while riding on 5th gear, It feels like there is more power for next gear but there is no next gear and it stays in 5th gear like it lost something.
As per Mechanic review, the engine oil was poured by low quality/class.
Bad Experiences from showroom( Khivraj Near Banaswadi):
1 Khivraj employees are neither friendly nor unfriendly, They just make you feel like out of focused people or retards who dont know anything about product or focused on something else another than the present customer and also waiting for yes or no mindset.
It was suppose to be delivered on Jan6th( Birthday) as promised, The management decide to not be give as RTO registration was pending.
As mentioned above, they are not time bound or never had a single moment that I felt I was well informed( You have to give them a call and check for yourself). I got a message saying "Congratulations for booking Bajaj Discover 150 F at Khivraj Motors. Contact for delivery " Typo message by showroom.
It took me 6 days more to get the number for the bike( 1 day was delay from my end)
5 Bike was new but muddy( reason: These bike come from Pune and transportation has lost its shine)
When asked to clean the bike, they used a towel which was dirty( Felt like did I ask them, Its my fault)
Even though the Company is Khivraj and Bajaj, when I got the insurance, It was from Videocon Liberty General Insurance for IDV 59900/-( Never heard of it. what is Bajaj Finance doing then?)
So far these are my experience. I may be wrong in many things as I am not a biker. Just my opinion on how I felt as fresher using geared vehicle.
