Wow!

Bajaj Wave, a venture by Bajaj into non-geared segment. But, this bike stands out from the others. It is much more powerful than the other variable geared scooters. This bike has set off at the right price. In fact, the biggest plus of this bike is it’s cost! The bike has been moderately priced at only 35, 000 which is way better than a Pep, it’s immediate contestant. The Wave is powered by a 110 cc engine with DTS-i technology( Dual Twin Spark Ignition). Well, Pulsar, Discover & Wave are the only bikes with this technology. Pep loses out in almost every factor to the Wave execpt for the styling. The Wave has been acclaimed as almost a Saffire in looks, but still it has been quoted as excellently styled. The Wave gives a power of 8.0 PS/7000 rpm which is awesome by any standards for a variable geared scooter. Well, the Wave actually beats the Splendor in terms of power. The braking, is not to be questioned. Any non-geared bike has an average brake system only. The reason, the wheelbase is too small, that minimal contact is made with the road. The Wave is expected to sell heavily due to it’s features. So, can we expect the Wave to replace the Puny Pep? It is how the people look at the bike. If you want value for money, buy a Wave. But, if style is your only preferance, a Pep would do. The acceleration, mileage is good for the 110 cc beast. With the entry of the Kinetic Italjet being round the corner, the Wave must pick up sales very quickly to minimise the competition. The Wave is waving at the market, it’s the people who have to respond.

Bottom Line: Buy a Wave, no regrets. The best non-geared scooter.
