If u're happy and u know it..clap..clap..clap...

Thats how the Bajaj Wave jingle goes... well if anyone of you remember it..

Yes , the ad is good but somehow fails to get registered.

I have a Bajaj Wave for a month now, and I love it :)

Why I liked it?

-------------------

  • Comfortable height ( My height is 5ft, so this was very much important for me.)

  • Lighter than Activa ( my sister in law has activa, since I found it too heavy, i wanted

something lighter )

  • Powerful than Scooty pep, feels more sturdy (my feeling after test riding both)

  • Comfortable seats

  • Large luggage compartment, I can keep my helmet (so I don’t have to carry that ugly thing around :)) and my purse in it quite easily, without pushing hard to lock it :)

  • Enough space between handle and the seat, I can very well take my kid for a ride. He stands there holding on tightly to the mirror bars and enjoys every moment of the ride :)

  • Looks good , everyone will agree on this one, it looks really cool.. I liked all the colours when I visited the showroom , opted for purple! In fact on the same day I visited Scooty pep showroom, kinetic showroom and Bajaj showroom, and felt that Wave was the best looking model!

  • Price is 37, 000 Rs on road. My two options were scooty pep and Wave, and comparing power and price, this was surely the better option.

  • Customer service: We visited the Bajaj showroom in Pune ( Sai service, near

Balgandharva ) on a Diwali day. At 7 pm, it was still open. The cust care representatives were very responsive, we got about 2 km test ride. And in Scooty pep showroom, we waited long to talk to the customer service representative, who was obviously very much unhappy with us as we landed there on Diwali Day.. we did not get to see even a single pep, forget a test ride! And we were told that after booking we would get the vehicle after 3 weeks. So, of course, we chose, ’’WAVE’’. When we went to the bajaj show room with required documents, the deal was done in half an hour, we casually asked, that we want a freee helmet with it..and we got it. After an hour or so, we headed back home with our Wave!

  • Average is 40-42km per litre before first servicing. Not very good, but before that I

used to travel either by auto rickshaw which was much costlier. I got the first free

servicing done, after a month and 350 km. They have said that average will increase after this servicing, lets see what happens , Will update the review may be after a month of monitoring! :)

What worries me?

-------------------

Problem faced in the initial one month:

1.cold start - In the initial month, I had this problem sometimes during early mornings (around 8-8:30), and when the tank had very less fuel, it used to take about 5 min to start it even after giving choke. No problems what-so-ever when the tank is more than a litre of fuel.

2.metal scratching sound - Two times, when the vehicle had less fuel, I had starting

trouble, and I heard the metal scratching sound and was very scared thinking this is

something serious.. actually I had fallen with my Wave while trying to park on an elevated parking lot, the slope was a bit too much for me :) I thought the noise was

because of the fall or less oil .. I got fueltank filled up that day, and I don’t have the starting problem plus the sound anymore. I told this at the first service, they said

since the problem was seen only 2 times, we will keep it under observation. They said some other people have reported same problem and had to get a spare part replaced to solve it.

And yes, before some of you start saying that Wave is new avatar of the Saffire , that was a major disaster ..... Probably Bajaj is also aware that Saffire was a failure, and may be thats the reason for the low key marketting for Wave. I would also like to think, if Saffire is such a disaster, Bajaj must have taken double care of a lot of things before launching Wave! So no point critising Wave un-necesarily.

I surely do hope to see a lot of WAVEs on the road!
