WHY DID YOU BUY THIS VEHICLE? This is a good everyday bike. Im sick and tired of tuning 4cyl 4carb 16v DOHC big bikes for everyday use; big hassle. Style and arrogance is there but practicality is not. Traffic and roads here suxx. The road monster is hibernated my garage now. Wind 125 is best for these changing times. From where I come from, Bajaj bikes are sponsored by Kawasaki Motors which is a good selling point.
DESCRIBE WHAT YOU LIKE AND DISLIKE ABOUT THIS VEHICLE. Likes: Economy and efficiency, readily available, lightweight and extremely maneuverable, big 18 front and rear tires that go over humps and bumps, very quiet compared to open muffler roars of big bikes that wake my neighbors up when I go out at night, a mighty space saver in my garage too. Dislikes: Its tall look; which made me modified the rear shocks to a softer and lower type, plus lowered the seat, but hardly compromising ground-clearance. Result is added comfort to its already good road handling and breaking capacity. Looks from the rear is un-sturdy due to narrow wheels. No room to widen the tires due to its narrow swing-arm structure. The fixed type foot rests are a dead giveaway. Magneto-powered head lamps, tail and panel result in flickery illumination on low RPMs. This was perhaps done to dedicate all its battery power to the DC-CDI ignition system, less the horn and flashers. Finally, it would be better if the engine head and block had bigger, thinner, and wider fins to help keep engine temp down.
DESCRIBE YOUR DRIVING EXPERIENCE WITH THIS VEHICLE: Very good pick up in stop and go traffic (05-60 kph). At speeds above 80KPH, the engine REVs @ ±6500 RPM (max 8500 @ 10.8 bhp), not bad if you drive in cooler climates and change engine oil every 1000km. Engine and chassis vibration peaks @ 5000 RPM and tapers off @ 6000, perhaps because of the top engine mounting on the cassis. Note there are no insulators on the bottom engine-supports. Powerful brakes but no ABS so beware of tires locking on sudden hard breaking. Youll find that across its 5-speed gear ratio, #1 and #2 are the most distant. Perhaps a manufacturer design due to its smaller engine. You may also consider changing its 6hole rear sprocket to 42 instead of its original 44-teeth mode. This will lessen engine vibrations @ high speed, plus help run at a lower RPM, thus helping avoid excessive engine heat and wear.
REMEMBER NO MATTER WHAT MACHINE YOU OPERATE, ENGINE AND OIL TEMPERATURE IS IMPORTANT FOR TOP PERFORMANCE AND EFFICIENCY. CHANGE ENGINE OIL REGUALRLY, IT QUALITY SHOULD NEVER BE COMPROMISED. EQUALLY IMPORTANT IS THE PROPER BREAK-IN; HONING THE CYLINDERS, IGNITION CHAMBERS AND VALVES, ENSURE MAXIMUM COMPRESSION AND HIGHEST POWER OUTPUT IN EACH ENGINES CLASS.
WHO SHOULD BUY THIS VEHICLE? WHO SHOULDNT? If you need efficiency and reliablility, plus fuel economy, this ones for you. For the cowboy-type yuppie who strives in the urban jungle of concrete and traffic and throat cutting parking rates and work 8 hours a day, this ones for you. But for those who hate pollution and are overly paranoid about safety, this is not for you. Please note that all riders, no matter how much knee and elbow pads you have on, even wearing one helmet ontop of the other, there would always a safety risk. If you dont know when to release the throttle, this is not for you. Therefore whats best is drive defensively and responsibly.
