Previously I used bajaj CT100. It
is a very good vehicle for city riding with very good mileage. But for a while I have looked for a bike with
self starter, little more power and comfort with same fuel economy. Initially I
tried discover 135. Though it is a solid
bike I have to compromise in fuel economy, so finally I decided to buy XCD.y I got my XCD on 10.10.2007. It is really very good looking bike. From
the day one it self it became the head turner. Many people come to me and see
my bike and admire it. It have such a attraction. Black alloy wheels, sexy
fairings, LED tail lamp, Digital speedometer and self starter along with high mileage.
Driving experience
I drive this vehicle
for about 30 kms per day. Driving comfort is very good. Low end pulling is very
nice, able to drive in top gear even at 20-25 kms speed. Seat is very broad
gives adequate support. Suspensions are good. DC electricals is another major advantage, Head lamp brightness not affected by engine RPM. Starting is very easy even in the morning because
of auto choke. But kick starter is little bit harder. Breaks are average
only. Fuel gauge is not accurate. My gauge shows empty event there is three fourth
tank full of petrol. mileage so for I have not checked because it had done only 300 kms so far.
Verdict
At the out set for Rs40950 (on road price Pondicherry) it is really a value for money bike. But for long term reliability we have to wait and see. Mileage I will check and post in the next review.
Update on mileage
I tested mileage by tank full to tankfull method. I could able to get 69 kms for 1.16 liters of premium petrol under tight city traffic. That works out 60Kmpl. I think this is decent mileage for a 125cc that just done 350kms. I hope it will improve after completing all the free services. I will update after completing all the services.
