Bajirao Mastani my first impression is it is attribute to scale of Mughal-E-Azum by Bhansali.songs, chemistry between the leads, music, dresses, unwanted and disrespectful relationship and a social battle among field battles all can be visible you also tend to remember Devdas while watching the movie. the movie focuses more on drama than various battles of peshwa.
I feel touch disappointed to see a tiresome broadway like portrayal by the director. this movie will test your patience especially when you are confronted with a flow of untimely and irrelevant songs but this is ably compensated by the dialoges and acting of various leads.the role of Priyanka as kashibai and tanvi azmi as preshwas mother are far stronger than bajirao mastani themselves.
Tanvi Azmi character was quite frightening and diligently played by her. Deepika is as gorgeous as ever. She looks very divine but her role is too unidirectional and one dimensional and lacks shades of acting compared to the portrayal of priyank character to my liking. Ranveer is awesome as warrior I like his near to perfect pronunciation in Marathi dialect. certain scenes are well crafted like.the two major battle scenes, the meeting between Ranveer and dipika is working beautifully but overall on may become bore with the pace of the movie where the melancholy end wont help.
