Finally , a school that genuinely cares for the all round vikas[well being] of the bal[child].
The identity of this school starts with the omni present Mrs. Khot [the principal] who almost , single handedly , manages to know each child in depth and also has a fair idea about each childs quirks, needs and the areas in which the child requires extra attention.
The individualistic identity of the school is further strengthened by the friendly and committed teachers, who are gentle and yet firm in the manner in which they handle the kids.
The spirit of learning is present , but without the pressure of constant competitiveness and preparing of the so called’’ terror interviews’’ . Rather an emphasis is given on the complete well being of the child. All aspects of the childs personality, namely, creative, physical activity, mental growth and the concept of being responsible , sharing, caring etc. and many more are touched upon , in the time that your child spends here.
All the festivals , regardless of community or caste , are celebrated here , with equal frevour and gaiety, which in itself , I believe , lays the foundation for our kids to be global citizens.
Ofcourse , one cannot forget to mention the delicious and simple snacks served here in break time, which are prepared in the extremely clean kitchenn of the school itself and are nourishing as well as yummy for all the tiny tots.
Venue wise , the school offers lots of space, light and fresh air for the students. There are no cramped rooms, rather there is always a feeling of the big ’’verandah’’ that we all enjoyed at one point or the other in our respective ’’naani house’’[ as my daughter says]. There are swings and a sandpit in the small but neat garden in front of the school.
All in all , my own personal experience in that school, with my daughter ’’ Maanvi’’ has been a very pleasant and an enjoyable one. At the end of her term there , she got an extremely thoughtful card from her class teacher which said , that all the good that you learn , begins with what they teach you in nursery school....
and as far as Bal Vikas goes , they take the above very seriously indeed.
