Even though it has been almost two years now but I would like to bring it to attention of people who look for packers n movers and just go by their so called ISO certification. I came to USA from India in Jan 2008. Before reaching US, I shifted my household stuff from Mumbai(Thane) to my hometown Neemuch(M.P) on 5th Jan 2008 with an ISO certified packers and movers(Balaji Packers and Movers) based in Mumbai. Since I did not had much time left after that, I left it all over to packers and movers and came to US next day. To my horror, the stuff dint reached yet(Nov 2009). I have called several times to the Manager of the company(Mr. Verma) but he did not responded in a good manner. He always told me that it would reach in 2 days, 3 days or so. Later on, he blocked my number and did not responded to my cries.
The content was valued around Rs 40000 - Rs 50000 containing TV, Music System, Digital Camera, Mixie, Clothes, various house hold goods etc. I asked the guy for insurance up to Rs 20000 since I was not aware of the value of goods when I fixed the deal with him over phone. I also gave him Rs 5500 in advance for shipping the good. At the time of packing he sent his 2 person to pack the stuff who took away goods to his warehouse.
The manager sent a receipt with the packing crew which dated 5th Jan 2007(Year was mistakenly written as 2007 instead of 2008). The manager was suppossed to fax me the insurance receipt which he never sent.
I left the matter after following for 2-3 months since it was very difficult for one to follow up such matter seating in far country. I dont have anyone who can go to Packers and Mover’s office and solve the matter since my Dad has his other responsibilities and I dont want to bother him much.
It was stuff that I bought with hard earned money(first job) and contained few gifts that I received in the marriage.
The firm name is Balaji Packers and Movers and I urge people not to use their service as they are worst then pathetic.
