The Ballad of Easy Rider-Roger Mcguinn

Actually above mentioned track is by written by Roger Mcguinn and Bob Dylan and sung by The Byrds frontman Roger Mcguinn. The Byrds have also credit for another track in this movie - I wasn’t born to follow. Every ingredient of this movie including its soundtract deserves a dedicated review.

Lyrics:

The river flows

It flows to the sea

Wherever that river goes

That’s where I want to be

Flow river flow

Let your waters wash down

Take me from this road

To some other town

All he wanted

Was to be free

And that’s the way

It turned out to be

Flow river flow

Let your waters wash down

Take me from this road

To some other town

Flow river flow

Past the shaded tree

Go river, go

Go to the sea

Flow to the sea

The river flows

It flows to the sea

Wherever that river goes

That’s where I want to be

Flow river flow

Let your waters wash down

Take me from this road

To some other town

I will not mince words in anaysing the https://lyrics. Like a good poem, every indivual will derive a meaning which best suits himr/her, I will just correlate song’s significance to the movie. Two rider set out on a trans-america journey by road. During last few minutes, camera goes aerial and we see an image of a flowing river, which is a metaphor for a long road. Protagonists urge that river to help them find their destination.

Please watch the movie first for the images and script, then for songs and acting and you will get hooked to it!
