Id been to the Bambolim Beach Resort along with my wife on a 4Days/3 Nights package on Nov 22. I had made the booking contacting the resort directly a month before. The payments can be made online as per their instructions.
We reached Dabolim Airport at 2.30 P.M, and we had a person sent from the resort waiting with a placard holding my name, outside the airport for pickup. I was very impressed with the prompt pickup arranged by the resort. There was another elderly German couple who joined us in the cab, who also arrived at the same time in the airport. The drive to the resort is along the coast filled with pleasant scenic views and ship building yards. The road leading to the resort is not bad at all as I read in few of the other reviews. The drive from airport to the resort lasts for 40 minutes.
We had a warm reception at the resort, and we were guided to the Superior Sea Facing room in the South Wing. First thing, we looked for in the room was the bathroom/toilet and it did not dissapoint us. The room is sort of small, but was clean with the balcony facing the sea and the swimming pool below.
Coming to the food factor, it not bad at all. We had taken the MAP plan with breakfast and dinner. The food was served in a buffet and was good. I liked the bfast especially:-). They serve good north indian cuisines+ Goan cuisine. The restaurant has a good sea view, you can enjoy the food relaxing, watching the sea and hearing the meditative sounds of the calm waves.
The swimming pool is clean. Those who know swimming can have a good time. Taxis are available on call. Do not hesitate to negotiate the rates. In Goa, its all about your bargaining and negotiation skills.
The best thing about the resort is the beach. The resort is right on the beach, one of the main reasons why we chose this resort. There aint much people on the beach most of the time, which makes it look more like a private beach. We spent most of the time in our stay at this beach, lying down in the shades of the cocunut trees surrounding the beach. Carry a couple of cold beer bottles, while lying down in the beach:-). Buy the beer bottles in the bar run by a local in the beach.Buying them in the resort is quite expensive.Overall, the beach is clean and serene and spending time here is worth the money.
Last but not the least, plan your vacation to Goa between November - December to get the best out of the climatic conditions in Goa. And also the resort and its staff are more active during this time:-). And also ask for a sea facing room that too in the South Wing of the resort. Bottomline is, for the ones who are in a mood to relax and want to spend a lot of time in a calm beach, and not very specific about food and luxury, they can try this place. Also, if you are an adventure freak, try the water sports available in the Calangute or Baga Beach, its simply breathtaking. Happy Holidays!
