I stayed at The Bamboo Banks Farm during March, 2008 and had a wonderful experience. The Farm is located in a quiet place 8 kms outside the entrance to the Mudumalai forest reserve. It is a 40 acre property all wired up to prevent wild animals from entering the premises. The owner (now 79) has been running it for the last 33 years. The owner is a true gentleman. He woke up early on the day I was leaving just to say good bye to me! He has a pretty good sense of humour, is knowledgeable about a wide variety of topics and loves to talk! He also shows genuine concern about your needs and wants.
The cottages are clean and well maintained. They even provide mineral water on the house at all times, fruit basket, cookies etc. The cottages have refrigerator, TV, coffee machine, etc.The food was simply delicious. They had a big spread of fresh veg and non-veg dishes for dinner complete with a chocolate mousse dessert.
All this for less than Rs.2, 000 per night + food (Rs.250 for dinner)!
