What's Ur Number "Shaadi Mubarak"

Wedding Planners, are the guys who do all the arrangements in anybody’s marriage, from scratch till end, and hence this movie came about. A nice plot thought by the new-time director Maneesh Sharma, for his movie, and he is successfull in his first attempt. The brilliant performances, well matched background score, and wonderful songs, did their trick.

Plot goes like, There is an ambitious girl named Shruti Kakkar (Anushka Sharma), who wants to do big in business field, esp. Wedding planner business, and she is working with others who are in the field to get knowledge, but there’s a village kinda pure-jatt student named Bittoo Sharma (Ranveer Singh, introducing), who too want to join her biness (his way of pronouncing business), and together they started "Shaadi Mubarak", and hence their career, but hey, they fall in love too, and in the end, everything fall in place.

Best thing happens to this movie by a new director is the introducing hero Ranveer Singh. His character depicts a foolish-kinda jat student from Saharanpur, and ask me, he looks natural. The expressions looks original, while his dialogue delievery suits perfect to the character, where he is saying "Business" as "Biness" and so on, even his mind works just like a tubelight. There is a scene, where he is making a competitive company of Shaadi Mubarak, when asked for a name, he gave suggestions like "Shaadi Mubarak Part 2" or "Return of Shaadi Mubarak". That was a one hilarious scene of the movie. Well scripted, nice dialogues, and a raw touch is given to the movie with the help of Ranveer and Anushka Sharma. Anushka is a nice actress, and has a good future. They are well supported by the starcast of movie, which includes Manmeet Singh, Manish Choudhary, Neeraj Sood and likes. The movie is written by Maneesh Sharma, and is developed for screen by Habib Faisal, although they did some mistake in execution of a great plot. In the second half, the movie drags a bit, right after the intimate scene between Anushka and Ranveer. Also, the plot is not developed fully. Once there is a rival Chanda in the field, and next moment she is gone, no competition, just like that. 2nd half was not as promising as first one, but still movie is lovable and adorable. Songs are perfectly placed, and all the songs are great to the music and lyrics. Movie starts with the "Tarkeebein" song, sung nicely by Benny and Salim. Other songs includes Dance number "Ainvayi" (Salim, Sunidhi), song with beats "Dum Dum" (Benny, Himani), romantic song "Aadha Ishq" (Shreya, Natalie). Wonderful music by Salim-Sulaiman pair, whereas the songs are written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Aseem Mishra’s cinematography and Namrata Rao’s editing is normal. The character of Chanda is not developed properly, but I must say the film is having an ambitious kind of feel, which give courage to small-level entrepreneurs. Some best scenes of the movie-

  1. First interaction between Bittoo and Shruti

  2. Their working with Chanda.

  3. Opening of "Shaadi Mubarak" office, and dealing their first middle class client

  4. Ainvayi Ainvayi song inspiration

  5. Getting the first big contract

  6. Bittoo thinking name of his new shop

  7. Dealing with India’s business tycoon’s daughter’s wedding

  8. All dialogues said by Bittoo, and declaring love to Shruti at the end.

All-in-all, this movie give you the time-pass, with a different kind of story, about the wedding planners. So, even if you missed the film in theatres, you can buy the CD/DVD. Ranveer deserves one watch for sure, a good movie by YRF banner after a long time. I rate it 3.5/5. "What’s your number Shaadi Mubarak?"
