The film is of Salmaan Kan’s Era when he was a favourite of Film Makers. So the film makers used to fill their films with all the Mumbai Masala. "BANDHAN" is one of such films.

Theme:The theme is family drama. It was a good theme spoiled by adding lots of incidents and events
in such a way that the theme and idea of the film is lost.The film starts with love of brother and sister in a village background and when the audience sees the END, nothing is made out. The purpose, for which the film seems to have been visualised, is lost amidst un-necessary webs of fights and run arounds.
PLOT: Puja( role played by Ashwini Bhave) is a young girl of a poor family. She has a younger brother Raju( who when adult appears as SALMAAN KHAN). Puja loves her younger brother to the core of her heart. She is married to the village Zamindar SurajPratap(Jackey Shroff).Raju accompanies his sister after marriage as a dowry article. Raju grows up and serves his btother-in-law like a personal servant.Suraj Pratap has a sister named Jyoti(role played by Rambha). Raju starts loving Jyoti. At the same time a Nautanki Artist(Shweta Menon) enters the life of Suraj Pratap Singh, . She robs him of all his riches and home.Raju fights out all the adversaries of Suraj Pratap Singh. In the end Raju manages to get all the riches and home back to his brother-in-law.
The story runs in a very natural way inaccoradancewith the theme of the story. Bur t after interval the changing events make the film boring.Shakti kaspoor and ASshok Saraf’s comedy is just meaningless and bores the spectators.No doubt Salmaan Khanhas given some emtional scenes.He not only fights out but also overacts in some scene s.
The musicofthe filmis good, Both the musicians have composed well, Screen-play of the filmis tolerable.Acting of SalmaanKhan is alright. Rambha is nothing but a show piece only. Ashwini Bhave has done well in some scenes.Jackey Shroff has acted jis usualself.All other actorsare common placed.
