I have just read a review by trips 123...
Even I have faced a similar situation..
i visited the forests in october 1st week and stayed in Jungle homes..
i got to know of jungle home through their website...
The trip on the whole was good because I really love trekking in forests...
but the stay in Jungle Homes is horrible...
The rooms are not spacious.. and ther are no proper facilities too...
most of the time there are water problems and the geyser was not working when we went there..
rooms do not have a TV or phone facility... This becomes a problem because when we go out with our family and kids. it becomes necessary that we have to contact our relatives to assure that we are safe.. (u cant expect to use your mobiles as teher is only range for BSNL mobile in that area)
The food available in jungle home is not worth the money and is not very good... they are expensive..
The people at jungle home are also Fuzzy... after 10 oclock, the owners and the helpers in jungle home goes to some other place and there wont be anybody to contact, if we need drinking water or for other necessities..
they dont have any facility for electricity back -up.. so if power fails, kids become really restless..
but the trekking guide available in jungle home is good and he took us to good spots in mudumalai forests...
if not for teh stay in jungle homes, the overall trip to the forest was superb...
