My favorite weekend trip

Hello everyone, I am today going to write a review on Bandipur national park.

Bandipur national park is one of the most dense national marks. It is actually on the way from mysore to ooty, about 2 hours from mysore. The huge santuary is divided into 2. The tamil nadu side is called mudhumalai sanctuary and the one which is in the Karnataka zone is called Bandipur sanctuary. Bandipur santuary is an established tiger reserve and have helped save a lot of tigers.

A lot of animals can literally be seen in the road itself and I was very lucky to see a herd of bisons, deers and even a few elephants. The forest also contains many bears, wild dogs, bats and even wild cats.

I also have to mention the amount of birds that are there in these areas chirping in different voices.

There are various places for accommodation like V.I.P accomodation houses, cottages and many dormitories for budget plans in the jungle lodges.Cottage is the best option as u can clearly hear the sounds of vaiours animals via luxury accomodation throughout the night which is a once in a lifetime experience. There are also many other hotels which are expensive and luxurious around this area.

The charges for this sanctuary are very cheap, approximately 500 INR for entry and jeep safari even cheaper for van and around Rs. 1500 for stay.

We went for a wildlife safari in the jeep early morning and saw loads of elephants, deers and bisons in the trip amid extremely dense forests full of trees and bushes and even grass. There are also Van safari’s for budget prices and safer for large amount of people.

The entire day in the wilderness was one of the best ever as it provides total peace after being cut off the world without any phone signal and hence refreshes you to get back and continue life.

I also have to mention that during the safari and the accomodation, the officials take extra safety measures always inorder to safeguard any potential problems that could arise. The place of stay is surrounded by protection so that any guests can sleep peacefully without any fear.

TIMING:

The timing of the safari is 6.30-9.30 in the morning and 3.30-6.30 in the evening but its much better to go in the morning as the day is fresh and much better chances of seeing the animals.
