The music of Sodharth Anand’s action-adventure movie Bang Bang is as funky and sexy as its lead pair — Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif. Composer duo Vishal and Shekhar(Salaam Namaste) mix up fast numbers with slow and melodious songs eclectically.
The opening track Tu Meri makes for a classic, jump up& down with your bath towel kind of groovy number. The kind of which the caribbeans would fall in love with, immediately! Singer Vishal Dadlani has also penned the peppy lyrics for this song.
My rating? 4.5 on 5. Best song in the album.
Hrithik and Katrina are in their glamorous pomps in my pick for the best melody of the album titled Meherbaan Hua. Shekhar Ravjiani take the mike alongside Shilpa Rao and Ash King. Anvita Dutt and Kumaar’s soothing lyrics -’Rooh ki patang baandhi tere sang’ - coupled with the impeccable guitar-driven composition make it another chart buster.
Title track Bang Bang takes you back to the late 80’s pop, which was dominated by groovy numbers made for the nightclub. Benny and Neeti Mohan lend the beated up song enough virtuosity to see it through. Remember Saturday Night Live?:-)
Uff stars off akin to how Subhah Hone Na De from Desi Boys did, but soon weers its way into a sweet and simple kindergarten’s rhyme kind of a song.
The CD ends with a reprise version of Meherbaan, sung by Shekhar.
My only quibble is that, there should have been atleast couple more song. But understandably so, the makers decided to keep the package slick much in line wiith the movie itself. Thanks for reading:-)
