Fish, Crab, Mutton and "Mochar Ghonto"

Yesterday one of my friends called up in late afternoon and said "lets go somewhere and have some Bengali food". We, Bengalis, are famous for our love for food and travel. Hence, needless to say, in all the metro cities there are restaurants that serves delicacies from Bengal and Bangalore is not an exception. We chose to explore the food hub - Koramangala.

" BANGALIANA" - the name sounds lovely to the ear and location is also convenient - not far from Koramangala forum - a popular landmark as a meeting place. We decided to explore it.

The restaurant is in the 1st cross road - the lane between A2B and Udupi. So, we warmed up with a cup of filter coffee and then proceeded. The outlet is, however, in the 3rd floor and quite taxing to climb up. Nonetheless, we took it positively as it would make us more wanting! the walls of the staircase are nicely painted, paintings representing Bengal. The decor and arrangements are nice and modest. There is one terracotta art of Goddess durga and lantern shaped lights.   Don’t expect the luxury of a five star. The staffs are courteous and serving time is less. My friend had crab while I ordered "Pabda" fish. Food is tasty and at reasonable price. I remember my Pabda jhal was rs. 300. Prawns, Hilsa and Pomfret were also in similar range. So was mutton. Veg delicacies like posto, mocha and dhoka are also tasty.

Pros:    Tasty food at reasonable price

Cons: Outlet is not specious; One needs to climb narrow staircase - not recommended if you have elderly
