Dr. Nithya Manayath, Bernard Roy, Niharika, M Rose, Asha Sujata & all the nurses, trainee doctors & ICU staff hope your parents are put through trauma in front of your eyes till their last breath admitted in Baptist Hospital ICU.
Im sharing this in a broken and devastated state along with mother as Bangalore Baptist Hospital have systematically taken advantage of father for money & used him for training new staff taking fathers life, also trying to cover up in the discharge summary. We declined aggressive treatment & opted for palliative care. While waiting Father spoke to us & had some soup.
But when we were asked to take him to admit, doctors under Dr. Nithya as per her instructions & few ER doctors. Dr. M Rose, Dr. Bernard Roy, etc were pressuring us again to admit father to ICU or sign for Palliative care. They kept pressuring saying if father suffers anything in the ward they will not perform CPR or even try to revive him.
After extremely stressful conversations & consistent pressure by ICU doctors under Dr. Nithya, Bernard Roy etc. we were explicitly repeatedly told by Bernard Roy, M Rose that once I sign for Palliative care I cannot change the decision & ask for ICU admission later. We were scared so consulted family and finally signed for admission to the ward opting palliative care. All these would have been captured on the CCTV. Even after I signed Dr. Bernard & Dr. Rose were still pressuring us to rethink of decision as we cant change it later.
Father was kept in the cold while the nurse in the emergency ward was sleeping & not checking father until we kept requesting.Fathers vital stats even in the emergency was normal when i kept asking the nurses & doctors to check & share. We agreed to do all the tests needed, Ultrasound, X-ray, CT scan, blood tests etc. but declined anything invasive or aggressive. So they did X-ray & blood tests which were ok.i was first told by the nurse, she checked with admin that they have beds in general ward so I said ok, but immediately another nurse said they have only single semi deluxe ward in the entire Hospital. I was forced to choose the semi deluxe ward which was extremely cold with air conditioning & no nurse/ward support around. I had to keep requesting for a blanket for father as his hand & feet were getting cold due to air conditioning.i had a pulse oximeter so I kept checking fathers oxygen as no nurse was around for few hours. Finally a nurse came but she seemed to be a trainee & couldnt check BP or pulse correctly so I requested her to send someone else or a doctor but she said theres nobody till next morning. So seems father was deliberately kept in cold for his pulse not to be detected on their oximeter but i could on ours. I kept requesting throughout the night to check father & his stats but it was done only once.Next day late morning finally Dr. Nithya came & started shouting why we didnt admit him to ICU and didnt do any tests. So I had to tell her that they did blood tests and x-ray already, but she had no clue.Which meant she didnt even check what was done before coming to see father. I got scared & wanted to take father out of there, same time the palliative doctors came to see father but Dr. Nithya asked themgo away instead. She then pressured again to shift father to ICU so I told her that Ive already signed for palliative and I was told repeatedly by their doctors that I cannot change that decision. I again clearly said that I dont want father to be given anything aggressive or invasive.
Father was then taken to ICU put through trauma with ventilator & tubes. After doing that they started claiming fathers pressure went low and pulse cant be identified. Now I could see my father in extreme pain & trauma with all the tubes, injections, anesthesia his hands being tied to the bed in the ICU.I was called by ICU doctor Niharika who didnt have a clue but felt it was their achievement inserting tube, anesthesia & tying. So I kept requesting her too to have a look.Dr. Niharika kept pressuring us for dialysis
