My recent experience with BESCOM (Bangalore Electricity Dept.) made me to write this review. Generally, people don’t refer/prefer mouthshut reviews on public/govt. services as they don’t have choice. And all have to go through it, though service is pathetic. But my recent experience gave me a good feel about BESCOM.
2days back, when I went back to home at 6pm after a busy work day, my wife complained that there was no power in house from 10am till now. We moved to this house 5days back only, so I got angry on my house owner for keeping the electricity system in such poor state. Luckily, house owner lives in another area and I tried to call owner and complain about the same.
By that time, one fellow tenant of our apartments, came to our house and said she also has same problem. And some houses have power and some don’t have. Now I realized that this might be the issue for BESCOM, not my house owner. Then I got BESCOM service number from some neighbour and we all called BESCOM office from our mobiles. It was like 4 people are placing 4 complaints in 1 area. So we all four got quick responses from BESCOM people asking about what is our area, street number, house info. etc., Finally in 20 to 30 minutes 2 BESCOM employees attended at our house and checked the electricity line and rectified the problem.
I was very happy to see the power back in the house by 6.45 and wanted to share my happy experience with BESCOM with you all.
Only not so good aspect I see here, is all speak in local language only. But it is quite understandable that they are in the board for years and they don’t need to learn english or hindi which might help to understand others. So we’ve 2 choices: learn local language (better choice) or expect them to learn the languages you know. (it may not be feasible in near future)
BESCOM service may not be perceived equally by all, but i’m an elated customer recently.
