I wanted to apply passport & US Visa for my newborn. I haven’t added my spouse name in my passport .Since my current passport expiry was on May2018 . I wanted to both( spouse name addition & validity extension) I applied for re-issue. I have filled the form off line and uploaded xml, made payment and scheduled appointment online .( I have address change, I didn’t want to do the local address in Bangalore, since im sure that we’ll be moved out of permanent address in couple of years .So I have gone with local address) .
I had the following documents, Airtel post paid bill+gas connection bill(Current address proof), old passport( Permanent address proof), Marriage reg -Certificate(For spouse name addition), Degree certificate(for ECNR Proof).All these documents original and one set attested copies .
Showed up 30min B4 appointment time, first counter Arranging documents 15 min and token issue . Second counter photo, finger prints, 40RS for sms updates on our passport status, printing documents and verifying our new passport preview . third counter re verifying, fourth counter approval .Over all stick with your token number and watch tv status monitor for your token number. All happened in 80 min for me . Since its a reissue police verification not required it seems, even though there is a address change .Got a msg saying that passport printed in second day .Will be getting passport through speed post in another two days .Its normal passport-re issue lead time(7 working days) -1500RS no brokers, no problem at all. So improved process.
