If you thought that renewing your passport is easy task in India, think again…. It is as painful as getting your work done through some Government personnel. More worse if you have been relocated in different state and your previous passport does not have the same address. Unfortunately I fell in this category.
Things you you might need before you get to passport office for renewing(i.e. if your old passport address is not in bangalore)
Be prepared to stand in the queue for 4 hours for taking the token. issue of token is from 9:30 to 12 am sharp. so people who come at 8 or 9 am, forget it go home. I have seen people fighting with security gaurds after the counter closes.
Be there by 7 or late by 7:30 am. stand in the line till 9:30 am and then the queue will start to move, will take 2 more hours to get inside, so if you reach by 7 then you will get the token only at around 11 or 11:30 am. Be prepared for the worse.
3 Documents - 2 address proofs, with one having address of you staying for 1 year in Bangalore(Bank statement will do), take originals with you, for verification
4. If you are married then don’t forget to take the marraige certificate, it is compulsary now.
For TATKAAL, get annexure i and annexure f, annexure I can be done through any NOTARY but for annexure f(which is called verification certificate), it needs signature from magistrate or IPS or any GM of public sector, YOUR company letter is not valid. I have faced this issue. had to run here and there to get it. This is something new and many people don’t bring this and are been sent back, don’t worry your Token is valid for 24 hours, i.e. till next day
Get the passport size photo, with **White background(8 in all)
So it is a pain to just renew your passport ** and at times you will feel that if you are really citizen of India. Officers are very rude and cruel and you will see the real attitude problems of Indian Government service.
Even after you get all these things, you may need to be prepared for the worse. So Bangalore passport office even though they claim to have state of art facility, the real system sucks big time.
Bangalore people who have this old passports registered in same address please got to BangaloreOne center and submit.So next time you go in to renew your passport and think it i san easy task, think again, you are entering a horror zone.
