Well, I had my passport renewal appointment on 19th August 2016 at PSK Sai Arcade Marathahalli and I was startled to see the process was brilliantly systematic & crystal clear.
I reported at 4 counters during the whole process! 1st counter, bang in front of the office entrance! They will check if you have all the requisite documents & will issue a token number and then you can proceed further for actual processing. There is a sitting arrangement with token display in front where you wait for your turn. Eventually you will hop from A -> B -> C(three counters for processing & verification-just follow your token turn at display).Finally at exit, remember to collect the acknowledgement. They will return you the hard copy of the application & attached documents alongwith the cancelled passport.In nearly 3 hours the whole process was finished.
After 1 hour my passport went for printing(furnishing aadhaar helped in quicker processing) & I was intimated by sms. As 19th was Friday, next two days on weekends there was no update. On 22nd I got confirmation that my passport was printed. My passport was dispatched on 23rd and 24th I had it in my hands. This was for a normal passport renewal. Within a week’s time, I had my passport. Marvellous! Felt proud of Indian Government.
