FRATERNIZING BANGALORE: A POEM

I like Bangalore as I met the most reliable friends there. I like Bangalore for Bangalorians. Even after seeing the Europe and Canada, I love the city more for the people.. So its my feelings..

FRATERNIZING BANGALORE

When the cloudless sky was flaming,

Near the bougainvillea you stood for me.

When I asked you the way to the canteen,

Called me for a tea with your smile serene.

Then we met at the rusty city street

Gazing around over a spicy Bombay Chat

Wondering about the colours of the city

Laughed at things, we, mostly itty-bitty.

Nice it was to talk sitting near the sedges

Evening started drawing orange images

Joking out the wits in your last failed love

Mate, your left eye was wetting at edge

Now, my coach is leaving at three twenty

I found I miss Bangalore, the garden city.

If God ever makes a city for friends,

Its streets would resemble that of Bangalore.

Friends; they came as winds of autumn

To rush down yesterday’s yellow leaves;

They breeze till the last of fading summer

To pore down clouds for the thirsty roots.
