We moved to Bangalore on Jan’12. My entire experience of so far living in Bangalore is not good at all. Since I have traveled the lengths and the breadths of the entire country, living in South India was a big challenge for me and my wife. We have heard that New Delhi was the most unsafe city in India, but, let me tell you readers the media has ignored the wrong doings and the corruption going in the city. For the ease of the readers I have pointed out the flaws of the city:
First rule of any person coming to Bangalore, "Learn Kannad". As if these people does not believe that they are living in India. Surprisingly, if you speak in English(if you don’t know their language) you would still be spared but, being an Indian, bewaredon’t speak Hindi, they would feel offended and will charge at you as if you have created a crime.
Driving Skills, hey people, just in few words I would say the "nightmare of driving. Common sense is not common. And ya guys green means go! donno when would these people understand the importance of lanes and giving signals while driving, Not to drive on full beam at night.
Racist, south Indian are very racist and they would fight you more if you are a North Indian. Well, there are few examples of this: they will always feel insecure, will speak their own language( Kannad) if you are in a group, Will always try to compete you(on road, in office, everywhere)
safety Issues(married/unmarried) Women beware, South Indian would not even spare to slap you on face or push you or harass you, they are people of low dignity and self confidence.
Piece of advice for my brothers out there, if you find yourself caught in a brawl, it is advisable to zoom your car, rather than fighting these creatures. I am telling you from personal experience. They will try to beat the out of you and even the police would favor the south Indian only
Roads, the roads are just for the name sake, there are full of traffic lights in small turnings and that too of 200 secs. Picture this, just imagine a 10 foot road with Bus, Car, Auto, Tempo, Truck and two Wheeler all in that 10 foot space of road with speed breakers and pot holes and ya not to forget traffic lights on every 400 Mts.
My message for all the South Indian, I am a Delhite, the meaning of Delhi is "Dill Waale" In english( People with big heart), we have always welcomed people from all part of the world. You guys call yourself cosmopolitan? not in my books. I really had a very fair picture of all you people. The Un-Welcoming gestures that you have displayed has destroyed your image so badly in my thoughts, that, the marks would go away after leaving this place but the scars would still remain.
==If you are planning to come to Bangalore, do stay in Koramangla area or Indiranagar or Whitefield, where the North Indians are in majority. Even if your company gives you all the amenities, please do not stay in South of Bangalore or else switch your job/ don’t accept the offer. I.T. people, you don’t have a choice, though, sadly. If you are married you have all the problems of daily shopping and gas connection and just think of your wife and children staying in this environment. If still you are planning to stay here, well, best of luck ==
