MTR- Why they are so proud of it?

It may be a matter of pride for Bangalorians to project MTR as one of the good restaurants. But I have a different view on it. Of course I love the food there, but I hate the attitude of the people who run the show. I never tried to venture on a working day, but on weekends, it is too much. People are made to wait on road till the doors are open. (I am talking about afternoon please!). The management has no courtesy to either provide a seating arrangement or displaying a notice as when the next serving would happen. Just last weekend (10th July, 05), I went to the restaurant at around 12.30 PM. The doors were closed already and at least a hundred people are waiting for the ’luck’. I just peeped-in from a window to know on what is the status. The guys who manage the show literally cursed me for that and asked me to wait. After first ’batch’ is done, I was optimistic to get in. No luck. Suddenly they started closing the doors again after taking 10 people inside. A mini-bus has arrived and a ’mob’ of corporate people have come there. The doors are opened for them and closed again. At around 1.30 PM (Wondering why did I wait so long?) a person coolly came out to announce that the food for the day is reserved (booked by phone in advance), and we may leave the place. I literally imagined me as a beggar who is been cursed on a village door. That is not the end of my tragic story of that weekend. I just moved into the bakery which is run again by the same team from MTR. This time, being a veggy, I was more than happy to see the eggless cakes. I ate a lot of them to calm down the hunger. I got a brilliant idea to pack the same for my family (They went to attend a marriage which I skipped). I ordered several varieties of cakes and bakery items and knew the bill to be around Rs.1000/- I just flashed my credit card as if I am buying their shop. The person at the counter murmered that they take only cash. How the hell I guess that a food products giant of South India do not honour a credit card? And that too being in Bangalore (The hyped IT city of India). Reluctantly, I just came out by paying for the cakes I had. The total order was cancelled. The people who sit there were literally cursing me for ’wasting’ their time. I thought it is their business anyway! My advise for the reader would be, Definitely try and taste the food at MTR. It is a real pleasure for a veggy! But in case you are un-planned, just have a back-up plan before you reach there. One can not expect a polite manager with guilty of making you wait. There wouldn’t be a notice on when is your turn. Just wait wait wait!!! Even a begger hates waiting at MTR for their careless attitude.
