Garbage City bangalore

Garbage City Bangalore

We landed in the city in the cool afternoon. The first thing I noticed was the signboards in kannada. You get no clue to understand that. Fortunately some of the boards are in English also.It was cold afternoon.

Bangalore has open drainage system. This generates a very bad odour.Air also gets polluted. I had hard time protecting my daughter from the unhygienic drainage system.I would call it GARBAGE CITY.

Bangalore people are very hostile towards north Indians. They do every bit to make you feel uncomfortable/insulted.Any shop you go to , ppl will be least interested in selling something to you.Shopkeepers are arrogant and will give you least importance as customer.People are not at all helpful.

The traffic in Bangalore is pathetic. From my hotel to office it used to take 1 hour to travel. One fine morning it took me 11 minutes at my speed of driving. That was t 6 AM. Once upon a time it took me much lesser time to travel. Later on I found that it was holiday for Karnataka.

I had a different set of problem due to traffic congestion. A long fly over was being constructed on my way to office from my hotel. Traffic was diverted from a lane parallel to the fly over. Traffic jam in that lane is so horrible that on many occasions I was stranded at single coordinate for more than an hour. This is where the funny incidents happened with me. On one such mornings with heavy traffic, I was traveling in auto rickshaw .Suddenly the driver said “Sir, you can alight now. I am not interested in driving further.” It was a shock for me. But I had no choice. From that point I had to walk for half an hour to my workplace. After that the same incident was repeated many times over. In fact I got so much used to it that I could predict the moment when rickshaw driver would say “NO” to traffic. I asked one of them why he is not interested. With the answer I got , I was convinced that he was right. The rickshaw driver said to cross the traffic and take me o my office, it takes them 1 to 1.5 hrs. If they drive someone else in those peak hours, they could earn 3 times as much as what I will pay.

Bangalore police has funny ways of managing the traffic. Instead of installing signals and managing the traffic smoothly, many police personnel were deployed to each square(circle as they call it). These traffic police personnel are so sluggish that they many times let once side of the traffic to flow and hold the other side for 10 minutes. This only adds to the woes of already arrested Bangalore traffic. In front of my office, the road had opening where one could take “U” turn. But great Bangalore police closed that one and opened another U turn 2 km from the office. So everyone was forced to travel 4 extra km.

That gave me tough time finding rickshaw to go back to hotel. Because of 4 extra km, rickshaw drivers are not ready to ply me. Even if I was ready to shell out as much as 100 rupees, the drivers were not ready. This was truly amazing.

Bangalore as a whole is 40% more expensive than any other city in India.Everything is overvalues, overpriced and only expensive. The cost of living and the quality of living do not match at all.

A rented accomodation costs you

Rent 2 BHK 6.5 K to 20K

Deposit-11 months rent.

There is no guarantee that you will get the deposit back.

On top of that the rooms are so small that you can hardly accommodate yourself in those rooms.Imagine a 2 BHK in 500 sq. feet.
