Well, I was slightly surprised to notice that there are hardly any reviews on this cute picnic spot so close to bangalore.
this is a place situated about 40km from bangalore near anekal. as the name it self suggests, its a small valley with a stream flowing through it.
i had gone to this place about a week back during end of may. let me share my experience with you
we started at around 8:30 in the morning(from indira nagar, bangalore) and started on the ring road. you need to go on same bannerghatta road which leads to the bannerghatta park but at the point where you go down towards the park, you need to take a left(actually the main road turns) and go towards anekal. I can say the bannerghatta road has improved alot because a couple of months back, when I went to bannerghatta park, I found that the road was missing in most of the places :-)
we were one of the luckiest people as it was a chilly day(may end can you nelieve it !!!) I know it feels odd in summer but thanks to all those rains bangalore receieved previous nights, it was really pleasant.
we took left near bannerghatta park(towards anekal) I repeat again, to go to banner ghatta park you need to go off road but if you proceed on the main road(curve to left) you will go on anekal road
surprise was waiting for us as there was no road after that turn :-)
yeah the road is under construction(or broadening) so it will be a head ache travelling on this road(about 25 kms from this turn)
but the weather was really pleasant so we decided to continue on the road. the road goes through anekal town(yes, it becomes real narrow) and then when it ends, we need to take right and continue(can ask any one about pearl valley)
there is a resort by name pearl valley so it may be confusing if you ask villagers, they may point you towards the resort(the place I am talking about is real pearl valley) so you need to ask about the small stream in pearl valley to make it easy for them to show you the way
i can say its a decent place for one day picnic(make it half day) you can go, have food and come back with your family
there is one KSTDC mayura hotel as well as some small petty shop near the place, so I can say( you wont starve to death atleast)
when I went, the stream hardly had any water(summer isnt it) but I am sure that once the rains start, it will be a all together different place to be
the water was ice cold(at 12 noon) and place is decent for relaxing there is not much to explore though
all in all, a good place I would say
go there and enjoy
