ATM : Any Time Malfunctioning

I have bank account with Bank Of India since 4 years, in my student life, this account was idle, had hardly any transactions in bank. Now in last one year I had very bad experiences with this bank, listing them one by one.


Cheque Clearance


Imagine same bank’s Bank Draft clearing takes more then 4 days. Inside bank they have direct connections with all accounts, can any one justify that cheque clearing in same bank can take 4 days !!! where all bank branches are connected with internet.


ATM Cards


After they informed me that they are now offering ATMs, I applied for ATM in February 2002. In June they informed me that somehow there is some problem and they LOST all applications which were made for ATM so I have to make a new application for ATM. In June I again made application. In september I was informed that I wont get ATM since there are so much of applications and they cant process all at now, so remaining applications will be processed in next 3 months. Finally in November 2002 I got my ATM.


ATM Centres


I got ATM no doubt, I goto bank’s ATM centre and 50% of time I get response that ’’Branch communication failed, you please try after some time, your transaction has been cancelled’’. Last week, I got same problem 3 times, 3 continuous day and next morning I had to goto bank and withdraw money as usually we do. (Whats use of ATM then?)


Today I went to ATM centre, the guy before me took money from that and he went, I entered and I put my ATM, I got ’’Transaction timed out’’. I went to another ATM centre, there I put my card and screen showed me some junk characters I didnt recognize what was written on the screen. My card was stuck in ATM, after 10 minutes it came out and it said ’’Your transaction cancelled’’.


No Customer Care


I went to bank of india website, no single email address or telephone number is given for making complaints and for customer care.


I strongly recommend that companies must come to mouthshut and read reviews about their products and services to improve their services.
