Today when I visited Bank of India, and was taking up this issue with concerned staff members your Branch Manager came out and started justifying the cheque return. On my plea that I have a auto sweep account and return of cheque hampers my credibility and respect. He still tried to defend his case, this resulted in verbal altercation with him. I had to inform him at this stage that this attitude of his will make me shift my major deposits to other bank, to which his reply was, “ you can do so, if You wish”.
I know it’s a very large bank and may be the customer care does not have any hold on you, but I a s a senior citizen feel very pained by this attitude of a bank, where I am one of the oldest customers. Since then I am already in the process of moving a substantial part of my deposits to other banks but feel necessary to bring this issue to your kind notice.
To my utter surprise and disgust I find that my cheque was returned by the bank as insufficient funds.
