I have account in Bank Of India since year 2000. My experience with the bank is not good at all. I have opened accounts in Bank Of India at three different places. My Home Town Pachore then New Delhi Janakpuri Branch and then again in Indore. But the overall processing at all the places are same. As in my home town we dont have any nationalized bank at that time I had no option to chose other then Bank of India.
The staff is somewhat co-operative in the home town as in small towns we can have good relationship with staff. But in Indore and Delhi they are not co-operative at all.
Getting always late, Slow working but very punctual at the lunch break or tea-break.
The staff members always found roaming here and there in the office or talking with the other staff member in their cabins.
My worst experience with Bank Of India is regarding the ATM facility. I have applied for the ATM card in Delhi. I was pursuing computer course. But I haven’t got the ATM card even after finishing the course. It was 1yr duration.
Then again with new account in Indore I applied for ATM Card in October 2004, but till now I havent received the card. I have made several rounds to the bank counter but the person holding that place is neither cooperative nor taking the responsibility. Perhaps it my responsibility to collect my ATM card from the Head office.
There is a lot of time wasting in daily transaction. On an average I have to spend around 30-45 minute for cash withdrawal. And of-course if there are ladies at the counters ..... I dont want to make comments on that.
So overall I had very bad experience with BOI and now I have opened new account with HDFC Bank and State Bank Of India. I received ATM Card from both the banks within 15-20 days. And Soon I m going to close the account with BOI.
