Had the occasion to take some friends and their children to Bannerghatta National Park
Had a surprisingly pleasant experience
There is an attempt to keep the precint plastic free by pro-actively asking people not to carry foil or plastic wrapped food and giving them free paper bags to carry the items instead.
All the attendants and even the ground staff gave direction and explanations freely and willingly, at times in broken Hindi, but the effort to be helpful and peasant was visible.
The bus ride had a very capable and helpful driver, the guide too was patient and gave us nature facts about the animals. (Actually he made a couple of mistakes like calling the young ones of deer as deer cubs rather than fawn), but was armed with all the statistics like size of the park, number of animals of each species, age of the young ones, habits etc.
We got excellent pictures both still and video and our entire ride provided some brethtaking close encounters of the animal kind!
The best time seemed to be around 1100 AM (when we went around), the animals were both alert and active!
The Zoo also contained large enclosures with some very attractive birds and animals though the idea of confing even some of these animals seems unfair and cruel.
Cleanliness gets 10 on10 including the toilet facilities. Utilitarian not luxorious, but clean, and odour-free!
Definitley a must-see on a tour/trip to the garden city!
