These people are big bluffers. First time some lady called and told me I have been selected for a Barclays Bank Gold Card. After getting various details about my income, profession, limit on my existing HSBC Gold card she confirmed that I will get Barclays Gold Card with limit Rs 4 lakhs. Their man came to collect documents and application. He insisted on taking the ORIGINAL statement of my HSBC Gold Card. When I did not agree, he connected me to their , Manager’.
The ’Manager’ stated that original is required because it carries HSBC Watermark. He assured me that he will send me a colour Copy of the statement. After that NO RESPONSE. After a few months another lady called. When I told her the story she said that she is from the ORIFINAL AGENT. Earlier some free lancer must have taken my application. So I gave another application and documents.
Then NO RESPONSE. A few months more, yet another lady called. I repeated the earlier stories. She said that she was from Barclays Bank. Earlier persons must have been from Barclays Finance. So one more set of application and documents but NO RESPONSE.
I booked some tickets on yatra.com. They offer Barclays Yatra card to each customer booking ticket through them. A few days after booking, a lady called stating that I will get Barclays Yatra card and sent a person to collect only copy of my PAN card. That is the last I heard from her.
After that, whenever I get calls from Barclays, I just tell them I am not interested.
