Barfi!!the kind of movie all the cine-goers awaited since a decade...a movie which has less dialogues and more depth..Its a meaningful delight!
Story:
Based in the beautiful town "Darjeeling" of 1970s, It revolves around unconditional love and love without logic..the kind of relationships in which there are no conditions and in which mind doesnt calculate the pros and cons ..
Barfi(named after radio Murphy and gradually named as barfi instead of murphy..rhyming words) is a deaf and dumb happy go lucky fellow, who falls in love with Shruti(Illeana)
However, Shruti’s rational mind forces her to have a secure future by marring a ’normal’ human being..enter autistic girl jhilmil(piggy chops)..Gradually Barfi realizes his true love for Jhilmil and with much twists, turns and comic encounters, finally they are together..
Direction -
Thumbs up to Anurag Basu..Movie treated in such a fabulous way that not even once you feel the irk of not having the chance to hear much dialogues..Instead you enjoy the beauty of silence emotions..
Dialogues , though few, are heavy duty and full of imptetuous.
Acting-
Illeana-a new entrant of bollywood cinema, she oozes confidence and class...perfect choice for the role and she did full justice to it
Piggy chops-PC, where is the Kiara of Anjana anjani??PC sans makeup, skinny jeans, shades, flashy handbags!!she rocked!simply awesome..as an autistic kid, she looked promising and convincing..she looked innocent and her selfless devotion for Barfi brought tears to eyes more than once..A tear-extracting performance Pc!!
Last but not the least!!Mr Barfi:) Ranbir!!This movie finally stamped his position in the film industry..Ranbir is beyond competition.Because he belongs to the league which others of his age will take minimum 15 years to belong to.With each movie, he surprises the audience by showing unmatched mettle and he did the same with Barfi
All the bachans, khans and kumars should take acting classes from this kapoor kid.With not a single dialogue in the movie, (he was deaf and dumb), he made dialogues sound so minisucle and out of place..the silence with Ranbir in it was what audience kept looking for all throughout..
Another award winning performance..this time may be an oscar nomination too...Kudos RK!!u surely deserve this praise..he proved that he is a Raj Kapoor’s grand child!
Even in the last scene, with him as a 70 plus year old, he proved that he is "THE ROCKSTAR":)

This movie belongs to the league of "life is beautiful" and "sadma".5 stars and no less for this flick
