A typical Bollywood film!!!

Way back in about 1996, Bobby Deol, son of Dharmendra Deol and brother of Sunny Deol, made his entry into Bollywood, with a film called ”Barsaat”.Now after spending about 9 years in Bollywood, in 2005 comes another Bobby Deol film titled ”Barsaat”.While the previous “Barsaat” flopped at the box-office, will this one succeed? With Bobby Deol, we get to see two hot actresses, Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu.Bobby has earlier worked with both these actresses. He was seen with Bipasha Basu in ”Ajnabee” and ”Chor Machaaye Shor”, earlier. While “Ajnabee” was an average to above-average runner at the box-office, their other film together, ”Chor Machaaye Shor “, bombed at the box-office.Will their pair succeed this time?Bobby Deol has been earlier seen with Priyanka Chopra in ”Kismat”.The film proved disastrous at the box-office! Will this time the Bobby-Priyanka pair succeed?

Shree Krishna International`s. ”Barsaat- A Sublime Love Story”, produced and directed by Suneel Darshan, stars Bobby Deol, Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu, Shakti Kapoor, Gajendra Chauhan and Beena. This time Suneel Darshan has made a film without his favourite actor Akshay Kumar, who did films such as ”Jaanwar”, ”Ek Rishtaa-The Bond Of Love” and ”Andaaz” for Suneel Darshan. This time Suneel Darshan`s film`s hero is Bobby Deol. While Bobby Deol`s career has been going through a dull phase for sometime now, will “Barsaat” prove lucky for him?Does the film fulfills all the requirements needed to make a hit film?To find out, read the review…

”Barsaat”, tells us the story of a young man Arav (Bobby Deol), who is very ambitious and hard-working.He works in the United States of America as a car designer and he is doing quite well in his job.One day, Arav meets a very beautiful and a hot girl called Anna (Bipasha Basu), in U.S.A in a temple. In that very first meeting, Anna gets attracted towards Arav and it takes Anna just a few meetings more, to realise that she is madly in love with Arav. The ambitious Arav wants to get a job in the most successful car company, BMW and Anna manages to help him get a job in BMW, as her grandfather (Shakti Kapoor) is the chairman of BMW.Arav is very thankful to Anna and by then, even he realizes that he is completely in love with Anna.Anna`s grandfather at a party, while introducing the latest model of BMW, announces Anna`s engagement with Arav.Everything remains perfect, till one day Arav receives a call from his parents, who live backhome in India in Manali.Arav gets to know that his father (Gajendra Chauhan), is seriously ill and so his mother (Beena) asks him to come back to India, as soon as possible. In no time, Arav gets back to India, asking Anna to come to India, after sometime. When Arav gets back to India, we find out that he is already married to a very cultured girl, who belongs to a middle-class family.Arav`s wife is known as Kaajal (Priyanka Chopra).Arav and Kaajal were childhood friends and Arav didn`t get married to Kaajal, out of choice.Due to some circumstances, he was forced to get married to Kaajal. Now with the entry of Anna in Arav`s life, Arav decides to get divorced with Kaajal and asks Kaajal for divorce.Kaajal who loves Arav so deeply finds it difficult to get divorced to Arav and so she tries to avoid this divorce but when Arav tells Kaajal about Anna, Kaajal gets ready to leave him. After somedays, Anna and her uncle arrive to India, for Arav`s and Anna`s wedding. While the preparations for their wedding are going on, Arav gets more time to spend with Kaajal too.Now that the wedding date is coming closer, Arav realizes that he has fallen in love with Kaajal. He realizes that the relationship that he shared with Anna was not love but it was just attraction. Will Arav be able to tell Anna that he loves Kaajal? Will Arav and Kaajal unite again?

Bobby Deol looks disinterested throughout the film.He could have given a much better performance than this one, but as it is, he unfortunately fails to impress.I agree that his character was supposed to be a very gentle one, but being gentle does not mean that you sleepwalk throughout the movie.Did someone explain this thing to Bobby Deol?Better luck, next time!

Priyanka Chopra as usual does justice to a role which looks very ’behenji’ type.A girl who is doing ‘pooja’ all the time, who is so much in love with her husband and family and who is always ready to sacrifice, sounds very Bollywoodish but credit must be given to Priyanka that she has managed to carry off such a “typical Bollywood heroine” kind of a role, decently. In my opinion, her recent releases like ”Yakeen” or ”Waqt”, were not so good and now this one too fails to do justice to her talent. The actress has already made it to the big league and A-grade films in Bollywood (infact she is one of the most highest paid actresses in Bollywood and she is also very much in demand), but what she needs is a role that can prove her as one of the best actresses and that can do justice to her talent.

Bipasha Basu appears on the silver screen after a long time, with a more stylish, sexy and a slim ‘n’ trim look.Well, after reducing so much of weight she definitely looks more attractive and pretty but performance wise, she leaves a lot to be desired. The actress does not succeed in registering a strong impact on the viewers. Her acting is strictly okay!

Shakti Kapoor also appears after a very long time, and he looks irritating.Others also fail to impress.

Suneel Darshan has failed miserably, this time. The film is anything but interesting. While watching this film, you cannot relate to the characters, you can`t relate to their feelings and you can`t even relate to the story. The film has such an outdated script and then the execution of all the scenes also look very outdated, in today`s modern times. The first half, is plain boring which focuses on Arav`s and Anna`s romance and their dancing and singing around the trees. When Kaajal`s character is introduced to the viewers, one might feel that the film would get interesting, but that is the most disappointing part. The second half also turns out to be as boring as the first half and to add to it, the climax turns out to be the worst part of the film. The climax is very predictable and filmy.Screenplay is very weak. The romance between Arav and Anna seems half-baked.Their feelings for each other and Anna`s falling in love with Arav at the first sight, looks fake and artificial.
