I had been looking out for a replacement for my worn out walking shoes & wanted to buy a new pair. This time, I wanted to explore buying through online stores.
I generally prefer reputed brands like Bata, Liberty, Paragon, which offer affordable shoes in their range(unlike a few flashy, expensive brands). I looked through the online catalog in bata.in & ordered a pair of walking shoes, to match my budget. Had never bought shoes online.
As per the routine, I got a receipt online, with the order reference number. The delivery of the shoes through courier did take some time(close to 10 days from the order date, which I think is quite long).
The real delight began after I got the parcel at home. I tried the shoes & found that they were not fitting, although I had ordered size 10, which I normally buy. I was completely disappointed & cursed myself for purchasing shoes online. I thought that I just had to dump this into garbage since I could not think of an alternative.
However, something struck my mind & I called up their toll free number, with an intention of trying my luck for an exchange.
The call center executive, after verifying my purchase details immediately offered an exchange option at the nearest Bata store in Bangalore, that too near my home.
The found a store near my home & in just one day, sent me an e mail with a reference number, the print out of which I was supposed to carry along with the pair of shoes & present it to the store manager.
Today, I approached the store & without any questions or hesitation, the store manager of Sahakarnagar Bata store exchanged it for a pair of new shoes. Although I did not get a bigger size of the model that I had purchased online since it was out of their stock, I was offered the choice of buying any other pair & paying the difference.
I am delighted to get such a wonderful shopping experience from Bata. I hope this experience extends to many other people. My thought of never again buying footwear online is now a thing of the past. With bata, I am confident not only of their unmatched quality, but also of their superior service.
