Have tried other brands every now and then - but return to
Bata/Power/Hush Puppies for their designs, durability and
fabulous value for ur cash.
There was a time not so long ago when the store had not more
than 2 designs you might have liked - and not in ur sizes
then - but over the last year thats changed drastically. For
all those who have not been to a Bata Store for a year or
more - check out their new Power range - awesome shoes from
700/- upwards!!! A similar Nike could be more ’scientifically’
designed and critical for tennis etc - but for everyday use
and walking/jogging - Powers are great. They outlast your
interest in them too :)
The sales personnel at Bata stores have got better - though
there’s lots of scope for improvement there. Sometimes not
every store has a decent enough stock - but in a place like
Bangalore its not a big concern.
They’ve been bringing in new designs rapidly - and the low
end stuff (’plastic&rubber’ slip-ons for instance) has
started to look pretty ’designer’
For the non-snooty kind - this is a great brand. I have never
seen anything more VFM than their products - right upto
Dr Scholl’s for which kind of confort (its almost therapeutic)
other brands would strip you naked.
