The editing is bad. Very bad indeed.
The action is superb, but it could have been more tight. Especially the hyped titular fight.
In a way, there was a need to leave a lot out of the film.
Or, in another way, put in more. The backstories, the teases needed more logic and info for the common movie-goer.
It is not clear who the higher power is in Lexs parting scene.
The teases are strong. The Justice League cameos seem forced and pretty accurate and classy to be secret tapes.
Flash does not look promising.
Doomsdays easy death looks like a humiliation to his immense mythology. And if Lex bothers up cooking him up, then why bother pit the Bat and The God.
It remains unclear when Bruce, and Clark get to know about each others identity. One would suggest at the gallery meeting. But it remains unclear how Lex Luthor gets to know about Bruce Waynes masked heroics.
The story well built up falls flat. Because Martha getting kidnapped leads to the titular fight. It is not rival ethical claims and perspective of justice that bring about the showdown, which is sad. But instinct says the two leading men will fight again.
The film is a comic fanatics dream come true.
Those who are looking for cinematic material along the lines of plot development and inspiring execution from the directors seat will be let down a bit.
The performances are very good. The directorial collapse is supported by the performances. There are very well scripted moments in the film. They make people cheer, whistle, roar. But there are powerful moments that could stand, but did not.
And overall from a comic fan, its 5/10.
