Like most other Females, I have this bunch of Shopaholic friends who have the information of all malls and bazars and whatever is sold cheap wherever. So one of them literally dragged me into a mess called Bazar Kolkata to do some Pooja Shopping.
We entered with our Helmets and Raincoats (It was rainy season you see...but it was not raining yet). On the right hand side there was a counter to keep your things. When we approached them the man sitting there informed us in a stern voice that this place is not for keeping Helmets or raincoats its only for shopping bags...hence we have to carry them inside. I was already annoyed.
We went to the T Shirt section for men. Unlike other Malls in Bazar Kolkata only 10% Garments are hanged freely for the customers to choose themselves rest are held up in racks for the staff to show.
I asked the man to show me size 44. But he was busy folding the pieces he has shown to the previous customer. So I went to another salesman. This man was hurling abuses in a low voice to a customer who has not selected anyone of the Tshirts shown by him. I was pissed off completely. And decided against buying a Tshirt for there.
Next I went to the Saree section. Lots of Sarees were on display. But most of them were crushed and dirty because of continuous touch and inspection by customers. So I asked a Salesman at a counter to show me similer Sarees. Alas! I get a rough Reply "Hanger er guloi Kom dam...Fresh gulor daa beshi hobe!" (The ones on Hangers are cheap...the fresh ones on the racks are costlier!")
I was furious! For two reasons once for the odacity of the salesman to decide that I would go for only cheap Sarees. And the double standard of the shop for keeping two prices for the same thing!I decided to call Good Bye!
