I always wondered if we have sites which go through a classical music through examples ... Meaning , just imagine of we have a site that takes an illayaaraj song , analyses it bar by bar , brings out the beauty I them ???Since iam a member of Illayaraaja yahoogroups , iiam familiar with this as lot of discussions go on in that .... I was searching something like that in Western classical and in Carnatic ... Most of us will be familiar with lot fo websites which teach music with free examples etc..But once you start learning an instrument u will get a deep intrest to learn , analyse music , enjoy them at a different level ... Normally music is enjoyed at emotional level and at senses level ..Very few of us look athe beuty of teh music and enjoy at ..For example , somebody might be in love or just married and when listens to Rehmans anjali anjali , he may appreciate that song ..That is good but limits our enjoyment in music to our moods ..On the other hand if we learn to appreciate music as suh , we can listen to any music , any time and will appreciate muisc at a different level ... One such site is the BBC site with teh URL https://bbc.co.uk/radio3/discoveringmusic/audioarchive.shtml But a word of caution , you definetly need some minimal music knowledge to appreciate this ...SO better will be to go thru sites lliek this https://musictheory.halifax.ns.ca/about.html and practice in a keyboatrd and refer to teh BBC site .. They analyze it in a different plane ..For exampel they take Beethoveens Moonlight SOnata ..They describe how the music starts , the starting code , the change in tempo , change in chords , harmony parts and how bethoveen suprises through chord progressions ...... Not just theoritical , they play , say 10 secon d peice , analys eit and move to teh next part ... This is just amazing ...Also teh analysis is done very slowly and clearly ..!!! I would recommend this ato all music lovers !!
